French Immersion Programs
Students who have been enrolled in the Early French Immersion Program may continue their French language
studies at Bramalea. Prerequisites for a French Immersion Ontario Academic Credit require a total of nine credits in French
itself and in other subjects taught in French. Peel lmmersion students will meet the requirements for an 055D with the nine
credits.
In order to offer students some choice of options, the subjects to be taught in French have been selected
from the 0515 compulsory course requirements. It is also important to offer program balance and subjects that provide opportunities
for language development for the students in the Immersion Program.
Curriculum guidelines ensure that Immersion Programs (with the exception of the French language course itself)
meet the same general objectives as English Language programs, except that texts are written in French and the language of
instruction is French.
