Classroom attendance will be reported to the attendance office
on a period by-period basis. The attendance recording system will provide teachers and parents/guardians with a detailed report
of attendance
for each class on a daily basis. Students are expected to attend all timetable classes unless prevented from doing so by personal
illness or family emergency. Failure to do so will be considered a SKIP. Parents of students under 18 and students (18 and over)
must call the 24 Hour Attendance Phone line at: (905) 793-2411. In addition to the above, upon returning to school, the student
is responsible
for providing a note, signed by a parent/guardian, stating the reason and duration of the absence. This is given to the attendance secretary
in the attendance office, not the teacher. Students who are 18 and over may provide their own notes once they have completed a parent
waiver form. However, this privilege will be removed if it is abused.
